If you are cleaning out your closet, buying new school shoes for your children, replacing worn athletic shoes, or giving up flip flops and sandals for warmer wear, you can donate your shoes to Soles4Souls. This organization, whose mission is to “change the world, one pair at a time,” was founded by a footwear executive after Hurricane Katrina.  It supplies shoes to the needy around the world, and helps the environment by recycling used footwear that cannot be distributed, thereby keeping it out of landfills.

In many parts of the world, a pair of shoes can make the difference between a child being able to attend school or not, and helps an adult safely get to a job many miles away. A pair of shoes for someone who has none also offers protection from disease.

Soles4Souls accepts all types of new and gently used shoes for men, women, and children. To find out where the nearest donation bin is to you or to get your business or organization involved, go to www.soles4souls.org.
