Pet Peeve:  I buy something online, and then end up on some company’s catalog mailing list — and not necessarily the company whose paper catalog I was trying to avoid.  (Memo to marketers: there’s a reason I went online in the first place.)

Most of this stuff goes directly into my recycle pile. Such a meaningless death of a tree!

Help has arrived:  Go to Catalog Choice and tell them which catalogues you receive against your will (I can think of at least five). Within four to six weeks, you’ll stop receiving wasteful catalogs and your little mailbox will be able to breathe again.

This will not only save trees but energy, thus curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
