FLEX 13TH STREET
I can’t think of any restaurant (other than my neighborhood pub) that I have returned to as often and look forward to the next time with great anticipation. When a friend introduced me to this wonderful concept of a restaurant, I became a fan instantly and I’m turning everyone I know on to this fantastic find! Besides the 13th Street location, there is also a Flex Mussels on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan and I’ve heard that one’s coming to a neighborhood on the lower East Side of Manhattan very soon.
First of all, the idea of a menu filled with diverse and exotic mussels recipes is totally unique and simply delightful. More importantly, it is d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! It’s a thrill to be working my way through the menu selection. Each recipe I’ve had so far – Classic, Dijon, Fra Diavola, Provencal, Thai, Funghi, Bombay – has been a culinary masterpiece. Secondly, the sides are simply spectacular – my faves are FLEX Truffle Fries and the salad selection (Simple Salad, Kale Salad, Spicy Greens). Then, the piece de resistance, The Flex Donut Collection including raspberry, meyer lemon, wild blueberry, cinnamon sugar, chocolate, salted caramel are out of this world! And, from a non-dessert person, that’s saying something!
In a nutshell, I’m a Flex Mussels devotee and I’m going to do my part to spread the word!
