For years, I’ve been keeping a journal of gratitudes, musings and insights.  On a regular – often daily – basis I recall the the events of the day, partly as a recounting and mostly as an opportunity to express what I am grateful for. Sometimes it’s as simple as something I’ve enjoyed, like a delicious cup of coffee, a walk on the beach, a visit with a friend or maybe I’ve experienced a disappointment, like losing out on a project I thought I had in the bag.  Whatever the situation, seeing something pleasant in the mundane or focusing on what is working rather than what didn’t work makes me feel better about myself and the situation.  When I feel better about myself, I feel better about life.  Journaling is one of the pracitices that does wonders for my attitude; I recommend it highly!
