In order to achieve healthy, lush, shiny hair, you have to consume the right foods. If you want to know which foods can give you the hair you want, keep reading.

Nuts.   Nuts such as walnuts, almonds and sunflower seeds all contain Vitamin E which helps improve blood circulation on your scalp (and the rest of your body). Plus, walnuts and sunflowers also have zinc and zinc deficiency can lead to hair loss.  Just be aware of less healthy additives in nuts such as salt and other flavorings.

Figs.  Figs contain 80% more potassium than bananas and are also rich in other vitamins and minerals including iron, magnesium, vitamins A, B & C, folic acid and zinc.  A potassium deficiency can also lead to hair loss while a healthy amount of potassium helps soften the hair at the hair shaft.

Apricots. This little fruit is full of iron, which helps build hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells. An iron deficiency can also lead to hair loss and dull hair.

Oranges.  Citrus fruits are full of Vitamin C, a nutrient that helps bond hair fibers making hair stronger. These fruits also contain beta carotene which helps cells grow.

Dairy. Dairy products contain biotin, a protein that helps to strengthen hair.

Whole Grains. Whole grains contain vitamin B5 and inositol, a chemical compound that helps keep hair follicles healthy.
